More Elk hunt 2009

We took a beautiful hike one morning up in the backcountry toward apostle ridge.
Yes it is as small as it looks, good thing we had to carry it 2 miles to the truck.

What a life, after a hard day of hunting.

We got into the snow Wed and it sure was beautiful. We were trying to go to St Elmo but didn't make it.

Chris's trusty vehicle got us most of the way to Parmigan lake. Never had any car trouble.

Elk Hunt 2009

We hiked a little each day and the scenery was awesome. This is Harvard lakes area.
Carson was the first to draw blood. He got his Monday morning early, he was so proud.

Thanks so much to my friends Dot and Pat Bernhart in Buena Vista Co for the use of their home. We were sure spoiled.

New Jetski

Want a ride? I hope I get my $400 worth

We had fun but the water is still too cold.
I was able to lift the old play house I built over the fence with the tractor bucket.
I made a small vegtable garden in the yard and plan to plant some corn behind the fence.

It was hard to spread the gravel and make the border with power polls.

The boys really like the b-ball goal I cut down for them.

My new gate to the playground I built for the kids to use.

Sunday, April 5, 2009

As you see, we didn't die. I guess I am still young at heart. Jeff screamed more than me.
The ride at Pigen Forge was as scary as it looks.

It was a beautiful day, like a state fair. We had funnel cake and icecream.

Ripleys believe it or not Gatlinburg TN. We took the family there for spring break.

More Tractor

The disc is under the bucket, I had to pack it in to get it all on the 16' trailer.

Converted to 12 V and oil spin on filter, new front tires.

You can see the Bush hog, scraper blade and cultivator.

Old Tractor

My new "old 1952 8N ford" tractor. It is just like my dads but painted red and yellow.
This is Sunday Mar 8, I forgot to set my clock forward. We missed Church and went for a ride to Leapers Fork. The photo was taken outside the place we ate lunch "The Twisted Fork". They also had a "General Lee" but my battery on the camera died.
